FAQ

How do I earn Ether in Hero Siege?
Ether is earned mainly by completing Ether Quests — objectives that appear in your runs. Completing them awards Ether that you spend unlocking nodes on the Ether Tree.
What changed with the Ether Tree in Season 10?
Season 10 added over 100 new nodes, making branch choice a genuine build decision. Early patches also buffed specific nodes — for example, the Treasure Chest node chance was raised from 1% to 3% and Presence of Evil from 1% to 8% in the 7.0.x series.
Do Ether Tree choices reset each season?
The Ether Tree is a seasonal system, so its progression resets with each new season in line with Hero Siege's league structure.

What Is the Ether Tree?

The Ether Tree is the seasonal system that shapes what your runs actually contain: which events spawn, which rewards appear, which risks are worth taking. You earn Ether by completing Ether Quests — objectives layered into normal gameplay — and spend it to light up nodes on a branching tree. In Season 10 (Ebontharn), the tree grew by more than 100 new nodes, which turns it from a side system into one of the season’s central build decisions.

Think of it as the opposite of the Incarnation Tree: the Incarnation Tree makes your character stronger; the Ether Tree makes the world more rewarding.

The Core Loop: Quests → Ether → Nodes

  1. Run content with Ether Quests active. Quests ask you to do things you were doing anyway — kill elites, clear events, open containers — with a seasonal objective layered on top.
  2. Bank the Ether. Completed quests award Ether whether or not the run itself goes well, so quest completion is the priority inside any run.
  3. Spend with intent. Every node is a promise about how your next hundred runs will look. Spending scattered points produces scattered runs; a filled branch produces a farming strategy.

Early Node Priorities

The community consensus for the first week of a league:

  • Economy nodes first. Buffed chance nodes (Treasure Chest, Presence of Evil) convert directly into gold and loot, and their post-patch values make them standout early picks.
  • Density and event nodes second. More spawns per minute is more of everything — XP, drops, quest progress. These nodes make your leveling push faster too.
  • Risk nodes last. Nodes that make runs harder are for when your build can cash them in for better rewards, not while you are still filling your talent tree.

Building a Farming Route Around the Tree

“Ether tree strats” — the practice of following a specific branch to create a specific farm — is the system’s real endgame. The pattern:

  1. Pick the outcome. Gold per hour, XP per hour, specific container types, or event density.
  2. Fill the branch that produces that outcome. Follow one path to completion rather than dabbling; partial branches give partial payoffs.
  3. Match your build to the branch. A chest-heavy branch rewards a fast clear build; an elite-hunting branch rewards burst single-target. Our wormhole guide covers build structures that adapt well.
  4. Re-walk the branch after every patch. Hotfixes have already moved node values this season; a route built on last week’s numbers can quietly stop paying.

Common Mistakes

  • Spreading points thin. A wide, shallow tree produces nothing measurable. Depth first, breadth later.
  • Ignoring Ether Quests while grinding. The quests are the currency source; skipping them starves the whole system.
  • Trusting stale node values. Season 10 is being tuned live — this page included. Check the official notes when a route stops performing.

FAQ

Where do I see my Ether Tree? In the seasonal menu from the main hub. The tree view shows claimed, claimable, and locked nodes along their branch paths.

Is the Ether Tree per character? It follows the seasonal character structure — progress is tied to your seasonal play. Confirm the exact persistence rules in the official season documentation.

What is the single best node? There is no permanent answer while hotfixes keep landing — but buffed economy nodes have been the standout value of early Season 10.

Do Ether Quests work in co-op? Yes, and co-op groups commonly split quest objectives to clear them faster.
